Barbara Hepworth
Barbara Hepworth (1903-1975) was a British artist known for her abstract sculptures deeply inspired by nature and her surroundings. She is one of the few female artists to achieve international prominence in her time.
This vintage book by art historian A.M. Hammacher examines the artist’s life and work, providing insights on her abstraction and connection to natural forms. 173 illustrations, including 18 in color, offer a wonderful overview of Hepworth’s work. The spine of this book is cracked (see pictures) but despite that it’s a book to cherish!
