Hadas and Hannelore have been exploring their passion for plants and cooking for two years together. On this Autumn evening in October, they will take us on an exciting trip through the fascinating world of incense.
We’ll listen to stories about the burning of aromatic materials in different cultures and contexts worldwide, through time and religion. We’ll look into the qualities of possible ingredients, some foraged, some harvested. With the plants that speak to us most, we’ll make our own personal incense mixture. This can easily be turned into cones to burn at home.
Finally, we’ll let our senses do the talking in a closing moment inspired by the Japanese kōdō ceremony (scent appreciation ceremony).
